The privacy of the visitors to The Scoop by Danielle ( is very important to me. Here is information on what types of personal information I receive and collect when you use and visit The Scoop by Danielle, and how I safeguard your information. I never sell or give away your personal information to third parties.

As with most other sites, I collect and use the data contained in log files. The information in the log files include your IP (internet protocol) address, your ISP (internet service provider, such as AOL or Shaw Cable), the browser you used to visit our site (such as Internet Explorer or Firefox), the time you visited our site and which pages you visited throughout our site. I do use cookies to store information, such as your personal preferences when you visit our site. This could include only showing you a popup once in your visit, or the ability to login to some of our features, such as forums.

I also use third party advertisements on The Scoop by Danielle to support the site. Some of these advertisers may use technology such as cookies and Ib beacons when they advertise on our site, which will also send these advertisers (such as Google through the Google AdSense program) information including your IP address, your ISP , the browser you used to visit our site, and in some cases, whether you have Flash installed. This is generally used for geotargeting purposes (showing New York real estate ads to someone in New York, for example) or showing certain ads based on specific sites visited (such as showing cooking ads to someone who frequents cooking sites).

You can chose to disable or selectively turn off our cookies or third-party cookies in your browser settings, or by managing preferences in programs such as Norton Internet Security. However, this can affect how you are able to interact with our site as well as other websites. Why will some products work for me and not for you?
Mostly because of skin types. I have oily combination skin in which my T-zone is quite oily and the rest of my face is the "normal" skin type.  I also have pale fair skin, so that limits my access to foundations since most companies (drugstore and luxury alike) do not make foundations and concealers light enough for my skin. So while I find it frustrating, my skin type is something for you to keep in mind when reading my product reviews. Also, at the end of the day, I might like a product and you might not! Personal preference can vary greatly from person to person.

FTC Disclosure:
All products were purchased by me unless otherwise disclosed at the end of the blog post. In certain cases, products or samples are sent to me for consideration by a brand or PR firm. Receipt of products does not guarantee they will be featured in a blog post, and those that do will undergo a period of testing at my own discretion.  I write this blog for you the readers, and will always respect you by giving my honest opinion.  I do not accept payment for reviews, nor do I guarantee favorable reviews when products are sent to me.

Affiliate Disclosure:
This site is partially supported through affiliate advertising programs, which is why you will now see ads and links on the site. The Scoop is part of the Adsense and Amazon programs. You can read about how affiliate programs work at How Stuff Works.

 Professional Disclosure:
As far as my educational background, while I have taken classes on nutrition and healthy eating, I am not a Registered Dietitian (RD) or Nutritionist. Please keep in mind that my blogs are based off on my own personal experience and personal research I've done on the topic because I am interested in it. If you have serious questions about a diet or exercise change you should contact your local RD or physician. I know my hospital/clinic has one and so did my undergraduate school. You might be surprised by the wealth of information they have and how helpful they can be with your lifestyle and diet change.

How this site is organized:
I label each blog I write according to one of three general themes. They are Beauty Scoop, The Scoop on Healthy Living, and Food Scoop.
  • Beauty Scoops will feature both beauty and fashion. They will include reviews, company spotlights, and hauls.
  • The Scoop on Healthy Living blogs will include information and tips that you can try if you're looking for ways to improve your health. These include anything from what foods you could eat and which you should avoid, to exercises and ways to stay active.
  • Food Scoops will include restaurant spotlights as well as recipes and food products that I use. If the recipe can be linked to a book or website, I will supply the link for your reference.
